Joan grew up in Sagunto building dry stone walls with his father, on the terraces behind the family's orange groves. He trained as a mason, spent ten years on restoration work in the old towns of the coast, and still lays stone most weeks.

Ingrid came from Bergen to study the gardens of the Alhambra and never went back. She trained as a landscape architect in Granada and worked for a practice in Madrid before meeting Joan on a terrace in Altea in 2009.

Marta came for one planting season in 2015, after a degree in agronomy in Valencia, and never left. She now runs the two care crews and visits more than eighty gardens through the year.

Matteo grew up on a farm outside Bologna, where water was always the first conversation of the summer. He installed irrigation for vineyards in Emilia before moving to Gandia in 2017, and now runs the yard there.
